When we talk about "
Artistic Periods",
This is what we should really refer to so that there is no possible confusion.
For in the last few centuries, when certain nations of the European Continent have been at the forefront, we would quickly get mixed up without knowing it.
First of all, what do we mean by the "Baroque" style
(dates between 1550 and 1760 (Italian Renaissance). This one makes a large part to the Angels, cherubs, accompanied by garlands of Fruits or Flowers. It is from here that our first reflection on our style of baroque costume jewellery is conceived.
Then appears the " Rococo
" Style
(dates between 1730 & 1760 (in France)
Based on the massive use of Shells and draped naked bodies, very inspired by the ancient Greco-Roman Art.
Followed naturally by the "Romantic" period
(in our German & English neighbours. dates between 1760 - 1850)
This style is very strongly marked by pure Feelings, emotions, restraint and great Imagination to translate all its forces between beings, Music of course is an integral part of it, with the great authors of the time...
Our original handmade jewellery is directly and fully in line with the world of wedding costume jewellery, with undeniable romantic accents.
We also draw on a darker "Neo-Gothic" trend, because feelings are sometimes darker too.
Back to Belgium with the Architectural current of the "ART NOUVEAU" style
(Horta) 1890 - 1914,
all in delicate curves, natural arabesques of the Kingdom of flowers and sublimated feminine curves, an ode to women, declined in the entirety of the Arts to impregnate all the art of living: of the "Belle Epoque", furniture, crockery, paintings, sculptures, wrought iron work, jewellery... Our first and very strong Inspiration concerning the conception of artisanal Jewellery of creator at A.L.I.E.N.S STEAMPUNK®.
And finally,
Because I could also be inspired by the "Art Deco" style
(post-war decorative art 1920 - 1939)
with its straight, geometric, pure lines, a revealed classism and also declined in all areas of society, lived as the "Roaring Twenties" liberating all the tensions and frustrations due to the 1st World War in Clothing, Jewellery, Music-Hall, Furniture, Architecture...
